Interim Dean Dauwalder appointed to Central Connecticut State University post

Dec 18, 2017

Today, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Maria Pallavicini announced that David Dauwalder, interim dean for the Eberhardt School of Business, has accepted an appointment to serve as Provost for Central Connecticut State University, effective March 16, 2018. His last day at Pacific will be March 15.

Dauwalder has served as interim dean for the School of Business since Jan. 9, 2017, while the provost has conducted a nationwide search for a new dean. The search committee, chaired by Steve Howell, dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science, is finalizing a pool of candidates for on-campus interviews in late January and early February.

To provide continued leadership for the School of Business following Dauwalder's departure, Dean Howell will serve as interim dean starting March 16 until the new dean is appointed.

"Pacific is a great university. You're doing tremendous things here and there's a great potential in the School of Business," Dauwalder said. "I've really enjoyed my time here, and I'm looking forward to returning to Connecticut and to the role of provost."

Provost Pallavicini would like to thank Dauwalder for his service during the past year and for providing outstanding leadership to the School of Business during this time of transition. She would also like to thank Dean Howell for agreeing to serve as interim dean of Eberhardt beginning March 16.
